M. Keerthi Varshini,

Speaking and listening are essential life skills which enhance a student’s self-esteem. These skills were already assessed in co-scholastic areas as well as in formative assessment of English. By including assessment of these skills in Summative Assessment/Annual Exam in all the courses of the English language (Classes IX to XI), emphasis is laid on their teaching and students acquiring proficiency in them. The courses for English where ASL is applicable are Communicative English (Classes IX and X), Language and Literature Course (Classes IX and X), English Elective CBSE (Class XI) and English Core (Class XI).
