What is Qwikipedia?

Ever been on Wikipedia to look up an article? More often than not, we start with one topic, click on a few links and within no time are reading about something else.

Qwikipedia is a game that tries to quench this curiosity in us. The objective is to get to a particular wiki page, starting from a specific article, using minimal clicks. There is no single correct answer, so we might surprise ourselves by finding new routes each time!

Caterpillar

Caterpillars belong to insect order comprising of butterflies and moths. They are larval form of members of the order Lepidoptera. They are mostly herbivorous while some species are insectivorous. Because of their voracious eating habits caterpillars and moths cause a lot of damage to agriculture produce. Caterpillars mostly stay in plants and leaves. There are different types of caterpillars and different forms. The Costa Rican is a hairy caterpillar which uses its spiny bristles for self-defence. The hairs have venom in them enough to cause humans to haemorrhage to death. Research expeditions to study caterpillars are located in Quito, Ecuador, Tucson, Arizona and San Jose, Costa Rica.

Tucson

Tucson is a city in Arizona, U.S. The word Tucson means “black base” in Spanish and refers to the volcanic mountains on the west side of the city. It is the 33rd largest city and 52nd largest metropolitan area in the United States. Tucson averages 350 days of sunshine per year with an average year round temperature of 83degrees. The Titan Missile museum which is a national historic landmark was at one time a top secret military installation. The Tucson metro area is served by many local television stations.

Television network

A television network is a telecommunications network for distribution of television program content. Many television networks like BBC, NBC, and CBC originated from radio networks. There are currently 748 Permitted Private satellite television stations in India. Hindi language television channels have the highest market share. The highest-rated Fox Broadcasting company network, part of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation was launched in 1986 in America.

Rupert Murdoch

Keith Rupert Murdoch is an American business magnate who was born in Melbourne, Australia. Inheriting a fortune from his father Sir Keith Murdoch, he became managing director of Australia’s News Limited in 1952. He is the founder, Chairman and CEO of global media holding company and board member of Fox Broadcasting Company, News Corp and 21st Century Fox. The Economist describes Murdoch as “inventing the modern tabloid” as he increased his newspaper pattern by increasing sports and adopting eye-catching headlines.
