The city’s theatre community gathered at The Park on Thursday evening to celebrate the launch of The Hindu MetroPlus Theatre Fest 2012. The eclectic crowd included everyone from actors and directors to sponsors and loyal supporters of theatre. It also included the multi-cultural cast and crew of The Snow Queen , which opened the festival this year.

Subject To Change, a primarily acoustic band, jazzed up the evening with its distinctive blend of pop, folk and blues, belting out everything from its version of Michael Jackson song, ‘The Way You Make Me Feel,’ to a half-Malayalam, half-English, totally charming composition centred around Cinderella. Or as they put it, ‘CinderChechi’.

The eighth edition of The Hindu MetroPlus Theatre Fest will be showcasing a total of 21 plays in Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad and Coimbatore.
