Nothing makes summer heat more tolerable than the sight, smell and taste of thick , white curd. And you get plenty of that at the Let’s Chaat festival on currently at That’s Y Food.
There are a number of dishes that come smothered in cooling, creamy curd including Dahi Chaat, Dahi Puri, Dahi Bhalla…And just plain, old fashioned lassi.
If you are not feeling that hot yet, then go for the enormous Bhatura served with piping hot Choley.
The restaurant offers the street food option along with its regular menu. So you can mix and match if you want.
The chaat items are priced between Rs 70 and Rs 140 (taxes extra).
Walk into some ‘desi music’ as the owner Ranjana desribes it. An auto rickshaw decorated with marigold garlands stands plumb in your way as it is likely to, if you visit Chandni chowk in Delhi! And chaat counters give you a peek of what they serve.
Waiters with tie and dye pugrees add that ‘North Indian’ experience.
Paani puri, papdi chaat, paav bhaji, bhelpuri are some of the other dishes on offer. You can round up the experience with masala chai, lassi and definitely the paan that is served at the auto.
A chef from Benares ensures that the chaats taste authentic and just the way they do in the North.
The Chaat Festival is available for lunch and dinner at that’s Y Food on TV Swamy Road till March 1.
