Wedding is a momentous family occasion — Indian weddings, particularly, are a grand get-together for family and friends strewn across the country, and sometimes, even across the globe. While it's a defining moment in a couple's lives, it's party time for kith and kin. And, preparations begin much before the wedding.

Needless to say, there's pressure on those involved in the arrangements, as the glorious event comes down to a list of chores. And, it's always wonderful to have help. This is where wedding planning services come in handy. Such as Palanquin. The wedding planning-cum-management service was recently launched in the city, by the Sabari Group of Hotels, in association with TKN Ecofarm.

“Palanquin looks to provide tension-free weddings,” says K.R.V. Ramani, chairman and managing director, Sabari Group.

Palanquin offers a variety of services from the wedding invitation mailing logistics, venue decoration, video, and photography to honeymoon package. TKN Ecofarm is said to provide organic vegetables, fruits, dairy products, spices, plantation crops and flowers for the occasion.

It is mulling tie-ups with catering institutes. The cost will vary with the events lined-up (reception, mehendi etc.), the number of guests, etc.

“The hosts can choose to be involved in the planning process as much or as little as they want, irrespective of the style of the wedding,” says T. Kumaresan, director, Sabari Eco Resorts and Hospitality.
