Rajinikanth shows the way
Rajinikanth is known to be a man of principles. Sample this — the actor got a hair cut from hair-dresser Kanna nearly a decade ago, and continues to do so till date! Kanna, who now runs his own beauty salon Bellezza, says: “One day he called me to the sets of ‘Sivaji', and asked me to take care of his hair styles for the entire film. And, he called me again for ‘Endhiran'.” And, many actors have followed suit — Dhanush has roped in Kanna for all his films since “Polladhavan”, Surya for “Varanam Ayiram” and “Ayan”, and ‘Jayam' Ravi for “Thillalangadi”.
Sneha, the cop
Sneha is delighted to sport ‘khaki' for her upcoming film “Bhavani”. Produced and directed G. Kicha, this film is a re-make of “Vyjayanthi IPS”, featuring actor Vijaya Shanthi. Says Sneha: “Every actor likes variety in roles, and I'm glad to be doing this one. Thanks to stunt master Dhinesh, I've done three fight sequences without having to go for a dupe.” The actor wants the film screened for Vijaya Shanthi, who's supposed to have appreciated Sneha for taking up the role.
Nasser shakes a leg
Nasser has a spring in his step these days. And, not without reason — he has just returned from Malaysia after 40 days of shooting and dancing for “Maharaja”. Produced by J. Ravi for Jayaram Creations, the film is directed by D. Manoharan, who is wielding the megaphone for the first time. The film is shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. Says Nasser: “It was a wonderful experience. The director was clear about what he wanted, and this helped us complete the film earlier than planned.” The film deals with generation gap and conveys the message that contentment is the best way to live life with. “It's a serious subject but the treatment is light-hearted,” says Nasser. The film also stars Sathya, Anjali, Anitha, Karunas, Saranya, Santhosh, Kovai Sarala and Vijay Krishnaraj.
