It is May and things are hotting up in the Kannada film world too. Kichcha Sudeep’s much anticipated film, Hebbuli is gathering steam with a multi-star cast. Sudeep plays an army officer. ‘Crazy star’ Ravichandran plays Sudeep’s brother. Amala Paul is the heroine.

Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan, who manages to put a finger in every regional language film industry pie is now making his Kannada film debut in Hebbuli . He plays the antagonist – a north Indian business tycoon.

The film, directed by cinematographer-turned-director S Krishna, will be shot in Bengaluru, Kashmir, Mysuru, Hyderabad, Ballari, Iceland and Norway is the buzz in the industry. Krishna’s first directorial venture, Gajakesari was a massive success. With big names and exotic locales, also comes a heavyweight budget, believed to be between a whopping between Rs 25 to 30 crore.

And it is not the first time that the stars are in the same frame. Ravichandran had played Sudeep’s father in the film Manikya recently – a combination that really hit it off well with the audience. Down south, Ravi Kishan has acted in Telugu films such as Race Gurram and Kick 2. Amala Paul was roped in as the leading lady for the film. The film also stars Kabir Duhan Singh, who has acted in Telugu films earlier, and Chikanna.

Hebbuli is being produced by Raghunath under the banner of SRV Productions, in association with Umapathy, an industrialist and Sudeep’s friend.
