Actor-artist Kamal Kamaraju is at ease. Not because he finished shooting a movie but also because he was being able to show his two years of work to the people. After dabbling with the Minnu series which was Kamal’s way of speaking through art about the injustice in society, he now created Rani.
Rani is Kamal’s way of celebrating the feminine side of the world. Rani on the canvas is a collection of colourful bovines. When looked at them from different angles they only ooze out benevolence, love and a very kind and appealing look. The colours he used are bright and lively and that, in one way, he explains, “shows the many sides of a woman. She is a mother, a friend, a sister, a wife, a daughter and while she plays each role there is always a sense of ‘giving.’ The cow besides being an important part of Hinduism, it also plays an important role in our lives on a daily basis. The cow is selfless,” he explains.
Kamal’s series’ title ‘Rani’ is apt. While using titles like Kalyani, Trishula, Surabhi Nandini, Ashtha, Dvaadasha, he also celebrate one canvas for the forthcoming Sankranti. His work Golden Harvest particularly is eye catching.
To keep his central character—Rani, in focus Kamal has mostly used a white background and used contrasting bright shades most appropriately to bring out his emotions to the benevolent cow.
