Mental as well as physical fitness should be given due importance, says Kavita Kaushik

There is no such disease in the entire planet that could not be vanquished by mother’s love and home-cooked food. And Kavita Kaushik, television’s darling ‘Chandramukhi Chautala’ swears by it.

Recovering from dengue while maintaining a hectic schedule of two tele-shows, Kavita believes that life should not be a race. The best way to let your body heal is to treat it like a temple, she promptly puts it. And the most effective way to do it is by not following an erratic schedule.

“I do not shoot at night. I work religiously from ten to nine, come home, read a little, spend time with family and get eight hours of sleep,” says Kavita. She prefers to be an early bird; nightclubs and late night partying are not her thing.

For her, food is one of the important aspects that makes or breaks one’s health and she hardly favours fast-food joints. “I carry everything from home. I’m lucky in that way that I have a wonderful cook,” states Kavita. Not one to compromise on her love of aloo-puri, she stresses the importance of moderation and timely eating.

However, she is quick to point out that the only person to credit for her lean and tall structure is her father. “My dad is the most handsome man ever. It is all in the genes for me,” says Kavita.

Inheriting a healthy body was luck but Kavita assigns the rest of the credit to yoga. The work schedules being tight almost always, she keeps it simple. “I see my friends hitting the gym or going out for Pilates class and all. But I have no time. So whenever I feel down or just to keep myself in shape, its good old yoga for me,” she says.

Mental fitness also rates high on Kavita’s list. “I keep work and personal life apart. The stress of work should not be carried over to home. It makes you age faster and your face loses its natural glow,” says Kavita.

Peace of mind and a body to worship is the ticket to a glowing face and a happy, healthy body sums up the bright, fit and sprightly Kavita Kaushik.
