If not many, there are a few credible names who recommend achieving fitness through natural ways and not merely by sweating it out in the gym. MTV VJ Rannvijay Singh best known for hosting adventure reality show “Roadies”, figures in the latter.
Running, rock climbing, trekking, cycling, bike riding, horse riding is what Rannvijay recommends to feel fit and fine. The well-toned body, he reveals, hasn’t resulted from frequenting the gym. “One may go to gym for exercises, running etc so that body may be fit but I don’t prefer gym for making muscles,” says Rannvijay who plays lot of sports. “I play basketball, cricket, volleyball and pretty much everything and I have got a job that gives me access to a lot of adventurous sports,” he adds.
“I was playing basketball a day before and I got very tired, which is lovely for me as I can hit the bed and fall asleep immediately,” recalls the VJ-cum-actor, who describes fitness as the state of well being of our body parts. “Fitness and body building are very different from each other. One can have nice muscles but he may not be fit. Fitness is related with sports, workouts, exercises and when one is fit then he automatically looks spectacular,” says Rannvijay, who was in Delhi recently, for the Carrera night where Carrera partnered with MTV and launched its best of Carrera sunglasses. The actor also harps on the importance of a proper diet. “Balanced diet should always be taken and one should follow the basics while eating something like one should not eat too much of fried stuff or too much of cheese or carbohydrate containing stuffs. One can include eggs or chicken etc in his/her diet,” he says.
A lover of adventures, Rannvijay doesn’t hesitate in performing scary stunts in “Roadies”. “I just don’t host but even do all my stunts and tasks on my own”.
