The cultural events organised that evening saw a record attendance of more than 1000 Sindhis.

The aim of the initiative was a small step towards keeping Sindhi culture alive among the community, said Deepak Chhabria of Centrestage Eventz which helped bring the play to the city, while welcoming the gathering.

The programme was inaugurated by Nandlal Pokardas, chairman, Sindhi Educational Society and his wife Uma Nandlal Wadhwa. The president of Sindhi Chamber of Commerce, Rajalal Nichani, the president of the Sindhi Hindu Mandal, Ram Shevaram, and the president of the Sindhi Federation of South India, J.C. Rahul Chhabria, event co-ordinator, besides Deepak Chhabria, was among those who ensured its success. The audience were glued to their seats right through the play, and later expressed their interest to be part of more such cultural programmes.

An overwhelmed Anil Sadani, director of the play, promised to bring more such events for the benefit of the Sindhi community in the city.
