I am 50 years old. For the past three months, I have developed dry skin and black patches on my cheeks. My face is turning dull. Please suggest remedies.

At your age, due to hormonal changes, the skin may become dry and develop dark patches. You should apply a sunscreen lotion 20 minutes before going out in the sun. Avoid excessive sun exposure. Use mild glycerine soap, cleansing cream or gel to cleanse the face morning and night. Keep the skin moisturised. At night, after cleansing, apply nourishing cream or pure almond oil and massage on the skin with a few drops of water. Wipe off with moist cotton before bedtime. Once a week, mix ground almonds with yogurt and apply on the face. Rub gently on the skin, with small circular movements, especially on the black patches. Leave on for five minutes and wash off with water.
