Tailorman offers bespoke menswear with all the customisation you desire

Have a jacket in your wardrobe that doesn’t flatter you? Wishing you could just find someone who got your trouser fit right? Or is your wedding coming up, and you’re hoping for some dandy suits for your band of friends?

Welcome to the newly opened up world of bespoke menswear that promises magic. Tailorman’s comes with a promise of custom luxury menswear at affordable pricing, and a choice of the finest fabrics from across the world.

You can buy Tailorman-recommended styles online, which have been put together by expert advisers. Or you could customise a garment to suit your styling preference — you can pick the shirt collar-cuff or the suit collar lapel. Or add fun or classical elements to your jacket lining and melton, among others. They can also embroider your initials or a short message on your garment to make it truly special. All this at no additional cost.

You could have anything made for yourself — suits, jackets and blazers, shirts, pants, waistcoats, accessories like pocket squares. Tailorman offers an option to measure yourself using their detailed instructions and illustrative “how to”, and place you order online. (They’ll even save your measurement profile for future orders). Or if you’re in Bangalore or Chennai, you could have their master tailorman visit you home or office to measure you! How much more convenient can it get?

“I felt there was a big gap in the market as far as fits and quality were concerned. You have the local tailors whose quality may be inconsistent, the ready-to-wear range, which is a compromise, because it’s made for the average man’s body. And then there is the made-to-measure international brand that could break your bank,” says Vidya Nataraj, co-founder of Tailorman, along with her partner Gautam Golchha.

Gautam’s company is the world’s largest exporter for tailored men’s garments for the U.K. market (outside China). “So we’re not restricted to one brand of fabric. We have access to the mills of the world,” says Vidya, giving an idea of the kind of access and experience they have brought together to the table. “Our fabrics are all digitally cut, so there’s no room for error,” she adds.

Suits and jackets come in casual, formal, corporate, and partywear styles. There is also the essential tuxedo to be worn on your D-Day, and bandhgala designs on offer.

Tailorman also encompasses guide stores — four in Bangalore and two in Chennai where you can walk in to have a feel and look of the fabrics if you’re not happy shopping online. The stores in Bangalore are in Commercial Street, Jayanagar, Bannerghatta Road, and Whitefield. In Chennai they are in Phoenix Marketcity, Velachery, and College Road, Nungambakkam.

There is also their ready-to-ship range of shirts, pants, waistcoats and accessories on offer.

Suits start at Rs. 9,000 and can go up to Rs. 1.5 lakh for ones that use Italian fabric. The tailor’s house visit comes free. They do free shipping and returns. They have bespoke wedding services for the entire wedding party.
