Ecstatic women dressed up mundane boxes into visually tantalising beauties at Wrapistry, the art of luxury gift wrapping workshop, held recently at Taj Connemara. The workshop held in two batches saw Amruta Walvekar, the vivacious entrepreneur from Pune, sharing her love and expertise of the beautiful world of bows, ribbons and fine packing.

Growing up with a penchant for crafts made Amruta leave her fancy corporate job after her management degree in London. Amruta’s gift boxes have been showcased at lifestyle exhibitions across the country, displayed in high-end hotels and patisseries.

Each workshop here had 25 participants, who happily followed Amruta’s instructions and worked their way around to create drama in the boxes and tins.

Amruta and her team were more than happy to closely assist every woman. One of the participants, Lakshmi, actually flew down from Gurgaon to attend the workshop.

Amruta is excited about her online store that will be launched soon. It will cater to luxury packing needs and supply exotic packed boxes.

The 29,100 likes on their Facebook page, the workshops in different parts of India and the joyous smiles on the women’s faces when they walked out of the workshop said it all.
