Tribute to V.K. Murthy

Three Guru Dutt films will be screened in Sadashivnagar

Here’s a chance to catch three Hindi classics over Friday and Saturday. These films brought together celebrated filmmaker Guru Dutt and his legendary cinematographer, V.K. Murthy to create classics that have stayed with us.

Suchitra Film Society, anubhava@IIHS, and Lace Films are jointly hosting a tribute to cinematographer V.K. Murthy through these screenings.

The Indian Institute for Human Settlements, as part of anubhava@IIHS will screen Pyaasa on May 30 at 6 p.m. On May 31 they will screen Kaagaz ke Phool at 3 p.m. and Mr. and Mrs. 55 at 6 p.m.

Anubhava is an attempt to bring people across Bangalore together on a platform to experience exchange of culture through theatre, book readings, concerts, art appreciation, and dance. Andencourage citizens to participate and engage in dialogues aimed at urban transformation by conducting a series of workshops, training programmes, conferences and seminars.

IIHS is at No. 197/36, 2nd Main Road, Sadashivanagar. Entry to the screenings is free and open to all.
