The U.S.P. of Bangkok-based jewellery designer Sapna Singhania’s show is the invisible setting.
“The making of this collection is very different because the piece looks like it is carrying one big stone, usually a diamond or a precious stone, and its lustre is also higher. It takes months to make because though it looks like the centrepiece, it’s actually composed of a few stones,” says Sapna, whose collection of jewellery will be on view in Bangalore tomorrow. The collection features jewellery in diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones. “The collection is modern yet classic. It is made in Bangkok, and the making and the finishing is intricate.”
Her jewellery is inspired by the intricate artistry of Asian culture as well as medieval architecture.
“Asia is full of beautiful monuments, with intricate carving and sculpture, and our designs are intricate, like lace. But the overall effect is classy and somewhat surreal, without being overpowering. So those who wear it will not get sick of it after a few wears, they can be worn forever.”

The collection, priced between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 4 lakh will be on view tomorrow at Taj Vivanta, M.G.Road, between 10.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The exhibition is open to all.
