Imagine being at a carnival where the celebrations never stop and the partying begins at daybreak and pulses all through the night. That’s what it feels like at Mighty Small restaurant in Smaash, the gaming zone in Inorbit Mall. Walk into this carnival-themed restaurant and the canopies and bright red and white colours on the seating grab your attention. “Mighty Small is inspired by our brand ambassador Sachin Tendulkar,” points out Mangesh Deshmukh, senior manager, marketing. “At a very small age, Sachin has reached mighty accolades in life. So the restaurant is named after him. The interiors is are same in Smaash outlets in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Noida. As our theme is based on carnival, our main colours are red and white. Even these wooden boxes kept on tables are commonly seen at carnivals.”
The special feature of the restaurant is that members of different age groups including children can be entertained here. While one unwinds at the bar cafe while relishing the favourite delicacy, the children can play in the newly-opened Trampoline park. Also if one is adventurous, there are quite a few games here to keep you on the edge.
Although there is a food court at Inorbit mall, Mangesh points out they stand out because of their variety. “Food is our USP,” he beams and adds, “The menu has been designed by a consultant and a lot of checks and homework has been done before adding the dishes. Customers come here for gaming and adventure so we have not put items which are heavy on stomach; after a meal one does not feel drowsy but energetic to play the games.”
Start with a Southwestern chili soup and the big fat green salad packed with all things healthy. Move over to appetiser section and it is not just the mind-boggling variety but also the presentation that leaves you bowled. Try the pav bhaji fondue and be ready for the twist. The pav come as slices and appear like potato wedges. There is chicken lollipop and Koliwada chicken popcorn for the non-vegetarians. The menu also includes scrumptious pizzas and burgers and different varieties of bread like rotis , naans and paratha which come in a combo offer.
Biryani lovers can try the potli biryani with its vegetarian and non-vegetarian options; if you want to experiment, try the Mighty Mix which includes prawns, mutton and chicken. China Box is for all Chinese lovers which come with a twist. Chopper special (veg/non-veg) has a combination of rice and noodles with a dash of roasted chilli paste. And then there is the Indo-Italian feast with a choice of pasta. Interestingly, the cocktail menu lists famous stadiums as names.
Chef Sharat speaks of the innovative dishes. “Food appeals to the eyes first so the presentation is important. People look for something different so we have experimented and tried to create something different. Pasta is available everywhere but pasta with chicken tikka is available only here,” he smiles.
In the end comes the dessert section including like the good ol’ chocolate brownie with a scoop of ice cream, the fried ice cream and the creamy malai rabri on tarts. There is also a cheese cake with cherry compote. Once you are done with the food, play a cricket stimulator game where Shoaib Akhtar bowls a yorker or Anil Kumble spins the bowl. “Smaash is a place where one comes to chill, enjoy the food and sweat it out too,” concludes Mangesh.
