The Rotary Club of Madras East presents the fund-raiser The Sound Of Salzburg Show. The music troupe from Salzburg, Austria, with director Franz Langer at the helm, is known for its Sound Of Music show. It was in Salzburg that the classic The Sound Of Music, was set, and the troupe promises an enhanced production, while contributing to the rich musical history of Salzburg.
The event will be held for three days — as a dinner event at The Grand Chola Hotel from 7.30 p.m. on November 2; at 4 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. on November 3 at The Music Academy, Dr. Radhakrishna Salai; and at 7.30 p.m. at the same venue the next day. Kalanikethan recently opened a store at Anna Nagar, its fourth in the city. With 12,000 sq.ft. across five floors, it’s said to showcase over 30,000 Kanjivaram saris. The shop has introduced men’s and kidswear, including casual, party and formal wear.
