Physics and philosophy are not so far apart really. If one investigates the physical world, the other teaches us how to relate to it. And physics graduate Dipavali Hazra seems to have found another path of study that combines the two –– her pursuit of Bharatanatyam.
Dipavali has been training under Gurus Marie Elangovan and G. Elangovan for 12 years, and this Sunday she takes the stage for her solo Bharatanatyam debut, her arangetram.
A graduate of Delhi University’s Miranda House, Dipavali also works as a journalist. The wealth of expressions, set within a disciplined structure, makes Bharatanatyam the art she wants to pursue as a lifelong passion.
The arangetram takes place this Sunday, India International Centre, Max Mueller Marg, 6.15 p.m.
