I have a round face and wavy hair. What kind of hairstyle will suit me? Can I have a fringe?— Vandana

You can have shoulder length hair, with the hair falling softly on either side of the face. Avoid a fringe and have a centre parting. You can have it cut in two layers/steps, with the first layer beginning at chin level. Avoid adding width to the sides of the face.

Suggest home remedies to treat dark circles. They have spread towards my cheeks and the area around my nose.Nikitha

Since the dark patch has spread to the cheeks and nose, it may be caused by sun-sensitivity. As a home remedy, apply pure almond oil sparingly every day around the eyes and on the dark patches and massage it lightly, using only the ring finger, for one minute under each eye. Massage in one direction only. Leave it on for 15 minutes before wiping it off gently with moist cotton wool. You can also mix cucumber juice and potato juice in equal quantities. Apply it on the dark area daily for 20 minutes. Wash it off with water. Before going out in the sun, apply a sunscreen lotion sparingly.

I have an uneven skin tone and want to have a glowing complexion.— Ramya

Tone the skin daily with chilled rose water, using cotton wool pads. Wipe and stroke the skin with these. Then, pat it briskly with the rose water-soaked cotton wool pads. Use a facial scrub twice a week to remove the dead cells and brighten the skin. Mix ground almonds with yoghurt. Rub gently, with small circular movements, before washing it off. Mix half a cup of ripe papaya pulp with two teaspoons of ground almonds, and one teaspoon each of honey and curd. It should be a thick paste that does not drip. Apply it on the face, avoiding the lips and the area around the eyes. Wash it off after 20 to 30 minutes.

I have loose skin on the back of my hands (palms). Suggest remedies.— Zaheerunissa

Take two tablespoons of sunflower oil, two tablespoons of lemon juice and three tablespoons of coarse sugar. Mix it together to make a paste. Rub the paste on your hands. Wash it off after 15 minutes. You can do this treatment three times a week. Mix together one tablespoon of almond oil, one tablespoon of sesame seed (til) oil and one teaspoon of wheatgerm oil. Massage your skin daily with it. Mix oats with egg white and apply it on the back of your hands, twice a week. Wash it off after it dries.
