Artisans of the Hast Karigar Society, Delhi will exhibit a collection of traditional handicrafts and ethnic weaves at an exhibition ‘Ethnic Weaves And Crafts Bazaar’. Choose from Pattachitra, Gond tribal paintings on paper and cloth, Kauna grass craft, tribal and thread jewellery, Madhubani painting on paper, cloth and wood, straw art, woven mats, miniature painting on wood, dhurries, kalamkari art, tribal jewellery, applique work, blue art pottery, leather work, bead work, iron craft, lamp shades, clocks, wall-hangings, bags, purses, stationery, jutties, footwear, crockery, diyas, terracotta, leather puppets and more. Take your pick from Chandheri, tussar, Jamdhani-woven, Bagru-printed, Kantha-embroidered, Kosa, Maheshwari, Mangalagiri, chikan-work, Banaras and Kanjivaram saris. There are also fabric, stoles, scarves, duppattas, kurtas, bed covers, cushion covers, curtains and carpets. Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. every day, artisans will demonstrate and share their knowledge on block-printing, traditional painting, stone and lac jewellery, iron craft from Bastar, leather puppets, tie and dye, weaving and other crafts. The sale is on till September 9 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Lalit Kala Academy, Greams Road.
