For some it is this way or that way, either others' way or their own way. But, for some exceptions it is both ways, like My Way or The High Way. This lounge, bar and restaurant, has certain elements common to other such places and some quite different.

A casual diner opened almost a year ago, it offers a mix of Mediterranean and Indian cuisines — everything from mezzes to kababs. The lounge done up in Mediterranean style gives a feeling of comfort and relaxation. The lounge's left wall holds an imposing hieroglyph done by Hemi Bawa, depicting Egyptian human images inside a pyramid and reflecting light beneath the glass. But what really enhances the ambience is the view from the fourth floor of Centre Stage Mall of Noida's Sector-18 market, especially at night.

While waiting for the meal in the dining area one could take pleasure in staring at the two beautiful paintings by Van Gogh, the café and the night sky. Furnished in a Moroccan scheme of colours like ruby red, deep blue, ferozi, etc., the place has a refreshingly soothing aura.

The Mediterranean snacks and starters include a variety of grills, soups and hot and cold mezze from hummus to Lebanese felafal, Spanish fetayar to lamb sambousek. In the Indian section the delicious kababs are easily the winners. The dahi ke kabab is made with hung curd and coated with corn flour. The menu also has pathar kababs, chicken gallafi and shola kababs.

An assortment of mouth-watering curries beckon for the main course. The kumb malai palak prepared with corn and mushroom has smoky spinach in it. And, no matter which curry you order, it will have a glazed appearance because of the butter added in abundance.

The owner Vikram Sharma explains that the menu is divided into two: One section in each variety of cuisine is done as he likes it, that is, the “My Way” menu; while the other section has the usual popular dishes. He adds, “Our My Way mocktale prepared with litchi, grapes and strawberry is liked by many guests.”

Since a perfect meal doesn't end without a perfect dessert, My Way offers tiramisu, apple pie, gulab jamun and lot more. However, the Broadway ice cream sundae would be the ultimate dessert. A double layer of brownie at the base with vanilla over it and the whole topped with hot chocolate syrup and crushed nuts, it is temptation itself.

Dining in a restaurant cum bar could be an embarrassment at times, especially on a family dinner. However, at My Way or The High Way such a situation is quite unlikely to arise because a spiral staircase separates the lounge from the dining area on the first floor. “We do have families coming in because upstairs is a totally separate area. It's not like where you have an inhibition coming in because of the bar,” says Vikram, adding that families sometimes prefer to sit in the lounge area to enjoy the view, “but we don't let them.” Obviously, sometimes his way is the only way!
