They spoke, they danced, and walked the ramp. And wooed Chennai’s movie fans. It might still be October, but SRK fans in the city are already wishing one another ‘ Happy New Year’.

If you had taken just one look at the crazy fans at the venue of Sri Palam Silk Sarees’ fashion show on Friday evening, you’d understand why. From overzealous fans wanting to take pictures with King Khan to youngsters calling Deepika Padukone ‘ akka ’, the evening was time for the star-studded cast to bond with their fans.

Understandably, the stars were thrilled too with the reception they got in the city. Deepika revealed, “I’ve spent a fair bit of time during my childhood in Chennai. The love and affection shown by the city towards us the last time ensured that we had to include it in our promotional plans.”

So, how did Deepika feel in the middle of all the guys’ bonding? “Initially, I thought that it’d be weird. But they all made me feel at home by taking care of me wherever we went for promotions. They’ve always put me first,” she said. Vivaan Shah, the kid in the HNY team, was ragged by senior colleagues who made him do push-ups in front of a packed audience. But the youngster rose to the challenge and emerged triumphant on a Friday that’ll be remembered by Chennai for a long time to come.
