Still struggling

September 23, 2013 06:38 pm | Updated June 02, 2016 02:30 pm IST

It is a common sight in busy city junctions — young boys and girls selling tricolour flags and mini umbrellas. Happy Independence Day, indeed!

If child labour still exists, is India truly free? These poor children are forced to sell flags and many other items. They need to be educated. If they are well-educated, India will be free. Even 66 years after gaining Independence, we are not free in the true sense. When will the poor gain freedom? We will be free only when all Indians are happy and prosperous. While these children are struggling to make ends meet, we declare that free India is 66 years old. This is nothing but a post-Independence freedom struggle!
