Environmentally conscious people are trying to stop using plastic bags and promote the use of various other bags. We can use cloth bags, leather bags, jute bags and of course, paper bags.

Variety ware

Paper bags are made of various kinds of paper, but the ones made with hand made paper are the most commonly used ones these days. Making these paper bags has become a very common craft activity in schools as well as in vocational training institutions.

Daira conducted a hand made paper bag making workshop for children in their Children's Art Gallery. During the workshop the children were taught how to make a small paper bag, which they eventually decorated with drawings, colours and paper cut outs.

According to Rizwana, a Std. IX student, “The best part is, that they are eco friendly.”

Atika Amjad, the co-director of the Daira, Centre for Arts and Culture , says, “It is important for children to work on all these crafts themselves, as they will learn to value them.”
