The Cochin Shipyard Recreation Club is all set to hold this year's All Kerala Children's Fest on November 13 and 14, in connection with the Children's Day celebrations.

The fest will be open to students from kindergarten to high school level from schools following the Central and State syllabus alike. One of the major fests organised by agencies other than the government, it will be held in nine venues in the Cochin Shipyard premises.

Categories

Competitions will be held in 30 events including Mohiniyattom, folk dance, group dance, classical music, school band, poetry recitation, Mappilappattu, action song, quiz, group song, memory test, painting, fancy dress, mono act, handwriting (English, Malayalam, and Hindi), reading (both English and Malayalam), elocution (English and Malayalam), essay writing (English, Malayalam, and Hindi), story writing (English and Malayalam) and poetry writing.

Besides, a competition will be held to select the baby king and baby queen. About 7,000 students are expected to compete in these events.

The club had been organising the fest for the last 19 years running. A 201-member committee of the club members has been formed for the successful conduct of the fest.

Students interested in participating may register their names either through their school or directly at the office of the recreation club situated at Thevara near the Cochin Shipyard between October 5 and 23.
