Black holes

March 23, 2010 07:06 pm | Updated 07:06 pm IST

Astronomers have been studying the stars for years. They have found out that when a star dies it creates a massive hole called the black hole. These holes have strong magnetic powers and not even light can penetrate them. They stretch and suck in any thing in their path.

Black holes are millions of light years away from us. But when an ordinary star dies it turns into a white dwarf. Some stars are known to be orbiting black holes. Scientists are not sure of black holes because of its peculiar nature. So nobody can prove its presence.
