* Vidyashankar Hoskere, former secretary general of ACCE(I), says, “On the unfortunate day, Dr. CSV woke up as usual, did his puja, had his breakfast and candidly noticed his own heartbeat turning feeble and even remarked, ‘Maybe I have 15 minutes to live!’ and soon enough breathed his last. What a glorious death for a man who lived a glorious life! He loved to sift, understand clearly and like a teacher explain things for others to understand.”

* Dr. Subramanian Narayanan, structural engineer, says, “He was a rare structural engineer as the professor in him stood out with his penchant for being a consultant with strong practical and theoretical background.”

* Ramesh M.N., Principal Consultant-Remedial Engineering at Enstrectura Consultants, says, “Dr. Viswanatha’s demise is a great loss to the civil engineering industry at large. Every moment spent with him at Torsteel Research Foundation was a learning experience for me. He was a mentor for several civil engineers, and an honest person with high values.”

* Real estate professional A.T.Samuel says, “Dr. CSV was a non-controversial, highly respected person. Institutions such as INSTRUCT, ICI and ACCE were founded and nurtured by his substantial efforts. He leaves behind a legacy for us to emulate.”

* K.S. Jayasimha, Senior Director, Civil Aid Technoclinic, a colleague of Dr. CSV says, “Dr. CSV is one of those rare persons who had the right combination of both theory and practice. He was always passionate and enthusiastic about providing solutions for critical problems faced by the civil engineering industry, either in construction or designs. In the last three decades, he has been responsible for restoration / rehabilitation of hundreds of important and monumental structures. Further, he has contributed significantly in bringing quality consciousness in constructions. In about 25 years of my association with him, I could learn from him several aspects of civil engineering to help provide professional consultancy services.”

* Pradeep K.P., Chief Editor, Master Builder & Secretary General, Structural Engineering World Congress (SEWC), says, “He was the ultimate solution provider for issues related to civil engineering. He often advised me on ‘Master Builder’, commenting on almost all editions. One of Dr. CSV’s messages wherein he praised the issue was like an award to me. ”

* Ajit Sabnis, former Secretary General, ACCE, says, “Called by the Lord are those few souls who are designated to achieve more. Dr. CSV was undoubtedly one of those with the highest of human virtues.”

*Former President, ACCE (I), Umesh B. Rao, says, “With the zeal of a child, he had guided innumerable persons. Sad he will not be there with us on the mega event of “Precast Concrete Technology” seminar.”
