The monsoon might play hard to please, but come August, the Hindu MetroPlus Theatre Fest always arrives on schedule. The much-awaited event in its seventh edition in Hyderabad, has a repertoire that’s eclectic and truly entertaining. The three-day theatre bash will feature two productions from Mumbai and for the first time ever, one from Hyderabad. The Company Theatre opens their most innovative ‘play within a play’ Noises Off on August 22, another Mumbai-based group Cartel will stage It’s not waht you Tihnk on August 23.

The Dramatic Circle, Hyderabad, makes its debut with Return of the Dirty Old Men as a finale to the fest.

Twenty-year-old The Theatre Company gives an intense, yet entertaining insight into the goings-on behind a theatre production through the play Noises Off.

Second in the line-up, It’s Not Waht You Tihnk! by Cartel is a delightful depiction of six independent stories, with three actors bringing alive 17 characters.

The Italian form of masked theatre — Commedia dellArte, is being adapted by Cartel for this production.

The theatre troika of Hyderabad — Shankar Melkote, B.S. Prakash and Vijay Marur will stage Return of the Dirty Old Men, the Dramatic Circle, Hyderabad production. The play promises complete rib-tickling fare.

Tickets are priced at Rs.300, Rs.200 and Rs.100. Seasons at Rs.750 & Rs.500
