Thirukkudi temple waiting for the renovation.

An ancient Siva temple in Triuvarur district has been taken up for renovation. Tirukkudi also known as Lakshmipuram is located near Kodavasal south of Chozha Choodamani river. It is close to the Siva temples of Tirucherai, Tirukkalambur, Melappalaiyur and Alangudi.

A speciality of the temple is the temple has Siva and His consort in two forms – Sri Visalakshi Amman sameda Sri Visvanathar and Sri Tribhuvanasundari sameda Sri Kailasanathar. The temple has shrines for Sri Ganapati and Sri Subramanya.

The residents of the village, majority of whom are agriculturists, have decided to renovate the temple, which was in a dilapidated condition. Help from devotees will go a long way.
