Temples to perform Kumbabhishekam

At Avvai Nagar Murugan Temple in Selaiyur and at Sri Shakthi Ganpathy Temple, Lakshmi Nagar

The Mahakumbabhishekam of the Avvai Nagar Murugan Temple in Selaiyur would be held on June 29. Events would commence on June 27 with a Maha Ganapathy homam in the morning. The Kumbabhishekam would be performed between 9.15 and 10.15 a.m. on June 29. The sacred water for pouring over the kalasams would be brought in a procession from Skandasramam.

A percussion by Shanmugham Naayanam, Kaariapatti near Aruppukottai in Virudhunagar District, would be performed.

Annadhaanam during morning, afternoon and evening would be provided on all the three days. The speciality of the temple is that the height of the Moolavar is 3.5-feet, not commonly seen in temples in this part of the city.

After 12 years, the second Kumbabishekam of Sri Shakthi Ganpathy Temple, Lakshmi Nagar, Chrompet, will be celebrated on June 29.

The function will start on June 25 with Ganapathy homam, followed by yagasala pooja, Navagraha homam and kalasa pooja. The ceremonial procession of the deity will be held in the evening. For details, contact 94449 37895 / 94441 73796.
