The three-day lecture session by the renowned scholar `Sarada Gnanaputra’ Chaganti Koteswara Rao of Kakinada arranged jointly by A.P. Department of Culture and Viswasri Creations of Vijayawada came as a great treat to Vijayawada audience. Unprecedented huge crowds attended the lectures and listened to them with pin-drop silence as the master orator with an ocean of vedic knowledge fluently spoke on Bhakthi, Sanatana Dharma and Ramayanam.

The fluency of his discourses and scholarship are already known both in the country and abroad through T.V. Channels. Koteswara Rao dealt with Bhakthi on the first day, Sanatana Dharma on the second day and on the third day it was Ramayanam. The discourses gave soul filling and unforgettable experience to the huge gathering. The erudite scholar was fittingly honoured on the last day by industrialists Ambika Krishna and Koganti Satyanarayana.

Tribute to patrons of art

A variety cultural fare was presented by Vijayawada Cultural Academy on the grounds of G.V.R. Government College of Music and dance marking the 64th Jayanthi of late Putta Jaganmohan Rao, prominent industrialist, well known patron of arts and a lover of Arsha Sahityam and its values. He was also the founder of `Arsha Bharathi Vikasa Parishat’ which regularly conducts competitions in Bhagavadgita rendering, Vivikananda Sahityam and Ramayanam.

Jaganmohan Rao received many citations, titles and awards both from Government side and private cultural associations. The annual `Kalodharaka Putta Jaganmohan Rao memorial award’ was presented during the function to veteran journalist, scholar and former editor of Visalandhra Daily C. Raghavachary by the wife of late Jaganmohan Rao, Rajakumari. The function was followed by a brief session of movie songs rendered melodiously by K. Suryanarayana, Mallik and K.R. Sudharani.

The major attraction of the evening was a dance drama `Viveka Sankharavam’ dealing with the life and preaching of Swamy Vivekananda. The ballet was well written by S. Ramesh, choreographed and directed by S. Ramavani was neatly presented with good musical support coming from Suryanarayana and Sudharani. Fine performances came from Ramesh, Yasaswini, Priyadarsini, Anusha, Priyanka, Sanjana, Tejasvi, Janakiram and others.

The honored guests were Father Ravisekhar, Director of Kaladarshini, a cultural wing of Andhra Layola College and Stage actor and Director P. Bramhananda Rao.
