The paths of the worldly and the spiritual run on different tracks since the goals are different. The worldly-minded run the race to seek success, wealth, name, fame, etc.
Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita that the path of the spiritual aspirant is easy to practise, and the goal too is pleasing and beneficial, pointed out Velukkudi Sri Krishnan in a lecture. To ignore the senses that chase worldly objects and to choose the spiritual path is the greatest hurdle for the jivatma. It is easy only when one understands that the goal is to seek the Lord and hold on to His feet.
The Lord rules over the Nityasuris in Vaikunta also known as Nitya Vibhuti, and the countless jivatmas in His creation known as the Leela Vibhuti impartially. He alone is the essence of purity and while no dosha can approach Him, He is aware of the entire range of doshas that bind every jivatma in this samsara. None but the Lord can relieve each jivatma from this bondage and He takes the full responsibility in this regard.
Tirumangai Azhwar describes his direct experience of the truth of the Lord, His infinite compassion and grace. It is a revelation granted by the Lord to this devotee who acknowledges with utmost humility and courage that all this while he had wasted his life time seeking worthless goals and had become tired. Now he sees that it is very easy and most enjoyable to practise devotion.
There is no question of ego on the part of the aspirant who acknowledges the Lord’s supremacy. There is no competition between the jivatmas in this race. Each one’s pace and progress is singular and there is no danger of the destination getting overcrowded or filled up.
