Two young men are engrossed in a serious discussion, standing at the plush entrance to a firm’s office in Angamaly. While one of them, Gautham, is the son of the woman who owns the business, the other, Apoorva, works as the company’s head of marketing.
It is the location of debutant director Anvar Sadik’s Ormayundo Ee Mukham , where shooting is going on at a frenetic pace.
Vineeth Sreenivasan plays Gautam, while Aju Varghese is Apoorva.
The title of the film is part of a well-known punch line in the Suresh Gopi hit, Commissioner . But the director insists that it was chosen only because it is in tune with the theme and “is not intended to be a spoof” by any means. “ Ormayundo Ee Mukham is a musical love story, with five songs that will gel perfectly with the narrative. In fact, the story is unveiled in between those songs,” says Anvar.
Gautam, who has just taken charge of the family business, is in love with Nitya (Namita Pramod), an artist. “All I can reveal about the story is that they have to travel on a particular path together but there are some hindrances in between,” explains the director.
Vineeth, who is back in front of the camera in the lead role, after a long gap, says: “I have always been a reluctant actor, but I liked the way this story was narrated, which made me accept the offer. When I listen to any script I make it sure that I don’t have to dance or fight in it. This one seemed so cool and simple. My character has been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the company at a young age and he is desperate to prove himself.” The actor-director-singer is already ready with his next script, to be directed by debutant Prejith.
Aju, meanwhile, has, of late, been having a glorious run on screen. “Apoorva is quite a curious name for a man but he is an interesting chap. Although the two youngsters are friends, Apoorva is scared of Gautam’s mother, his boss,” says Aju.
He is all excited to face the camera with Vineeth, who launched him in Malarvady Arts Club . “Though both of us were part of Ohm Shaanthi Oshaana , we didn’t have any scenes together,” says Aju.
Ormayundo Ee Mukham is being produced by Jaison Elamgulam under the banner of RJ Creations. Jithu Damodar wields the camera while Shaan Rahman is the music director. Stills are by Hasif Hakkeem.
