The Mustangs return to the city to strike a note of nostalgia with their ‘Sixties Rock' concert at the Museum Theatre, Egmore, on January 8, 6.30 p.m.
They may come from different continents and countries, and they may be in their 60s, but The Mustangs are all set to rock the city.
The band which was formed in 1965 became a hit with the crowds with their brand of surf, blues and rock music.
Their biggest hits were covers of popular songs such as “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones, “Wooly Bully” by Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs. But, after entertaining fans for four years, the group drifted apart. A jam session earlier this year in Bangalore, saw the band reunite.
The Mustangs comprise Derek Norris (saxophone and main vocals), George Cherian (guitar, violin and vocals), Christopher Ratnam (guitar and vocals), Anand Padmanabhan (percussion and drums), Haroon Mohamed (bass guitar).
The support artistes include John Isaac (vocals and guitar), Shyam Sunder Damodar (vocals).
