Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha honours Vijay Siva

Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha will celebrate its 114 music festival from December 14, at Vidya Bharathi, Mylapore. On the occasion, the sabha will confer the ‘Sangeetha Kalasarathy’ award on veteran musician N. Vijay Siva. The award carries a purse of Rs. One lakh . Sri Rangaramanuja Jeer (Emberumanar Jeer), Alwar Thirunagari, will inaugurate the fest and confer the title. The following awards will be given on the inaugural day:

Palghat Mani Iyer Centenary award : Mridangam maestro Guruvayur Dorai. Dwaram Venkataswami Naidu Award : Violin maestro Parur M.S. Anantharaman. G. Ramanathan Award : Dr. Sirkazhi Sivachidambaram and Dr. M.L.V. Award : K. Gayathri. The Sabha has also organised a unique ‘Paddhati ’ music festival from December 3 to 11 at ARKAY Convention Centre, Royapettah.

The Global Music Fest will be held on January 3 and 4 as a tribute to the late Mandolin U. Shrinivas. This festival will focus on young talents apart from instrument maestros.
