Vocal concert by Chennai V. Jayashree marked the 95th monthly music festival of the Tiruchi Tamil Isai Sangam at the Tamil Sangam Auditorium in Tiruchi recently. She was ably accompanied by Tiruchi Govindarajan on the violin, Srirangam Madusudhanan on the mridangam, Srirangam S. Ravikrishnan on the gatam and Malaikottai R.M. Deenadayalu on the moharsing.
G. Sivakumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, was the chief guest. He explained the importance of Tamil music and urged the people to learn to enjoy the same. “Parents should take the initiative of teaching Tamil music to their wards,” he said.
N. Mohan, vice president of the Tiruchi Tamil Isai Sangam, presided over the festival, sponsored by G.R. Venugopal. K. Rangarajan, secretary, and Palaniandi, treasurer, offered felicitations.
