The renovation of Arulmigu Chelliamman Temple, at Kazhikkanimuttam, Tiruvezhundur, in Nagapattinam District, began on July 16. (Tiruvezhundur is situated between Mayiladuthurai and Anandathandavapuram.) Devotees throng the place, particularly on Tuesdays, because they believe that lighting lamps at the shrine of the goddess consecutively for seven weeks cures them of all kinds of suffering.

Contributions, both in cash and kind, are sought for the renovation work. These may be sent to V. Swaminathan, c/o G. Viswanathan, No.414, VOC St, Kazhukanimuttam PO (Thirvezhundhur), Mayiladuthurai – 609 203. (Ph: 04364-220882).
