Sri Viswanatiswarar temple in Kalpoondi a village in Arani, Tiruvannamalai, is celebrating Mahasivaratri on February12 and 13. The villagers with the support from devotees elsewhere performed the kumbabishekam of the 500-year old temple on September 30, 2009. The lingam is a salagrama procured from Kasi. Paramacharya has offered worship to Lord Visvanatiswara and Sri Visalakshi Ambal at this temple.

To gather funds for work pending, sustain the puja routine and conduct festivals the organisers are appealing for donation.
