Consecration this month

Consecration has been scheduled on March 29 for Karpagavalli sameda Sri Kalahastiswarar temple in Uluthukuppai, Mayiladuturai taluk, Nagapattinam district. Legend has it that Sri Kalahastiswarar in Kalahasti, Andhra Pradesh, guided a devotee to look for him in a garden surrounded by tanks.

On digging the ground under a vanni tree, the devotee found a beautiful Sivalingam. He raised a small temple, which has been renovated. Kumbabishekam will take place also at four other temples in the village – Sri Sankara Vinayakar, Ayyanar, Chelli Amman, Sri Varadaraja Perumal and Sri Anjaneya. Consecration of Sri Ambujakshi samada Sri Patanjaliswarar at Tirukattanampuliyur, Kattumanarkoil, Cuddalore district, has been scheduled for March 27 (9-10.30 a.m.) Sri Sundaramurti Nayanar has sung in praise of the deity who manifested as hundreds of lingam that dotted the place. The deity is said to have granted salvation to Sri Patanjali rishi and hence the name. Contact 9790333377.
