The Kumbabhishekam of Sri Sivagamasundari Sametha Sri Sundareswarar Swami Temple, Pavattakudi, near Nannilam in Tiruvarur District, will be performed on August 27.

This temple is believed to be 1000 years old and was said to have been renovated during Rajendra Chola's reign, about 200 years later.

This village is located close to Thirutalaiyur town of Rudrapasupathi Nayanar, who attained salvation by chanting Sri Rudram. The village is also known as Tyagavinodanallur. The sthala vruksham is Nagallinga. Sage agasthya is said to have worshipped the Lord here. Hence the temple tank is known as Agasthya theertham and Vinayakar is also known as Aagasthya vinayakar.
