At the educational seminar cum dance and music festival 2010 conducted recently in Tirupati by Srivaari Kalakshetra Sampradaya Sangeetha Seva Trust, S. Madhavan gave a scintillating Sapta Padha Vinyasam concert, which is performing of seven art forms simultaneously before a live audience.
He started by singing a Jathi (rhythm), then played it on mridangam, later on violin and on keyboard, finally performed Nattuvangam and Konnakol for the same.
All the six performances, lasting for about four minutes each, were simultaneously recorded on a computer and digitally mixed on stage.
When the synchronized version was played, Madhavan donned the traditional Bharatanatyam robes and moved his nimble feet to the number, thus marking the seventh art form. Srivaari Kalakshetra, Founder Chairperson Radha Suresh confirmed that it was the first such performance in the temple city.
Madhavan, a senior Intermediate student at CAN Junior College, Tirupati, has taken part in the Thyagaraja Aradhana Music Festival in Thiruvaiyaru, the birth place of Saint Thyagayya.
He has also given performances as part of the Natyanjali Festival conducted at Chidambaram, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur and Pandhanallur.
