Atmakuru Ramakrishna, an artist who teaches at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, IISc. here, will paint 100 landscapes on May 20, 8 a.m. onwards, without using a brush. Instead, he will use his hands and fingers as tools in a bid to get an entry in the Limca Book of Records.
The oil paintings will be on 12 inch by 16 inch canvases and will be displayed at his school.
Mr. Ramakrishna said, “The idea came to me in 1994 while I was designing a literary promotion poster,” and added that he was capable of creating a landscape in just five or seven minutes.
As an artist, Mr. Ramakrishna draws inspiration largely from nature.
At Thursday's event, Doordarshan Director Mahesh Joshi will be the chief guest.
