Rediscover Germany

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), is organising a seminar, “Rediscover Germany — Higher Education and Beyond”, on September 28 from 9 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. at Tapovan Hall, Chinmaya Heritage Center, Harrington Road, Chetpet.

Managing information

Centre for Science and Environment will conduct a two-day workshop, “Managing Information and Communication in the digital age” on Drupal — an open source content management system on September 26 and 27.

The workshop is meant for information, documentation and communication professionals so that they can competently manage information resources (books, news clippings, articles, documents, reports, photos, videos, contact addresses), build and manage their website.

Workshop fee: Rs. 3,700 per participant for NGOs; Rs. 6,500 per participant for corporate, government and international organisations. Accommodation and related costs are not included. However, CSE can help you find a place to stay.

NIIT scholarship

NIIT is offering an IT Scholarship programme, ‘Bhavishya Jyoti Scholarship’ for enhancing the employability of students and making them job ready to meet industry needs.

The application forms for the test are available at NIIT centres across the country. Students can also log on to www.niit.com/bjs2013 for details. The last date for receipt of application is September 21. The scholarship examination will be conducted on September 22.

Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz 2013

The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz brings together quizzers from across reputed colleges and institutes of the city.

The quiz is open to under-graduate and post-graduate students. Winners of the Chennai round will represent the city at the Grand Finale to be held at Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi, on November 16. National winners will get an all-expenses paid trip to Sweden, where they will get to visit the headquarters of partner companies, universities and the Nobel Museum.
