Sankara Nethralaya's course in optometry

The Sankara Nethralaya Academy has launched a continuing optometric education programme for students and working optometrists who want to enhance their knowledge, gain experience and receive a certificate at the end of the course. The programme will run through 12 Sundays, one Sunday each month.

The programme will cover identification of symptoms to management, contact lens, low vision aids, to binocular vision, anterior and posterior segment evaluation. Applicants could enrol either for some of the lectures or for the entire module. Those enrolling for the complete module will receive a Certificate in Clinical Optometry at the end of the programme.

Six sessions have been conducted so far, in which nearly 750 optometry candidates have attended. The coming programme will be held on November 21 on anterior segment evaluation. To get involved in the COE programme, register in advance.
