Over 250 teams from about 60 schools took part in Cycle Heritage Quiz 2012, conducted by incense stick brand, Cycle Pure Agarbathies, held at Chinmaya Heritage Centre, Chetpet. The contest was conducted by television anchor, Gopinath.

The questions were related to the heritage of India which included epics, mythology, festivals, history, music, dance and others.

In an attempt to make children appreciate the varied rich forms of India’s art, culture, and tradition, the quiz is being conducted as an annual event from 2011.

The chief guest for the event Arjun Ranga, Managing Director, Cycle Pure Agarbathies, in his address, said that he was impressed by the performance of the participants. He said that the initiative is an attempt by Cycle Pure Agarbathies to play an active role in preserving India’s tradition and heritage.

“With the success of the event in Chennai, we intend to take this quiz to several other cities. I would like to thanks all students, teachers and parents for supporting our endeavour,” he added.

The championship title was won by Pooja and Vasanth Raj from S.R.D.F. Vivekananda Vidyalaya. The first and second runners up were Iniyan.R. and K. Sangeeth from Chinmaya Vidayalaya and Eshwar Subramaniyam and Aditya Karar from Chetinad Vidyashram respectively.

Special awards were also received by teams of P.S.B.B. School, A.M.M Matricualtion Higher Secondary School and New Prince Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
