Professor gets Lifetime Achievement award

: Dr. E.K.T. Sivakumar, Teaching Faculty, Centre for Nano Sciences and Technology, Anna University, Chennai, has been conferred with ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for the year 2012 by The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.

The award was presented to Dr. Sivakumar for his outstanding contribution in the field of social service. The award was presented by Dr. P. Chinnadurai, Secretary, Panimalar Group of Institutes, in the presence of Mayil Vahanan Natarajan, Vice-Chancellor of The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, and Thenmozhi Natarajan at a function to mark the silver jubilee year of the varsity. The Professor has also been honoured with ‘Media Guild Award’ for the year 2010 and 2011 by Chennai Metro News for his valuable contribution in the field of Education and Social Welfare.

He is also a recipient of ‘Scientist of the Year 2008’ by National Environmental Science and Academics, New Delhi.

Before joining Anna University in the year 2009, he was working as a scientist in a reputed research organisation in India.

Dr. Sivakumar, a social activist and Editor of Valarum Ariviyal , has authored more than 19 books in English and Tamil, and has submitted lot of research papers at national and international level.
