Moti Mahal College of Hotel Management, Mangalore, observed Onam festival. There were different competitions for students such as “pookalamalsaram” (floral mat) and “vadamvali” (tug of war) and games. There was also an Onam feast of 17 courses. Nikhlesh Nair, principal of the college, and Prasanna Shetty, principal of Laxmi College of Hotel Management, addressed the gathering.

Digital lab: Digital language laboratory was inaugurated at St. Philomena College, Puttur. While addressing the gathering, Antony Prakash Monteiro, Campus Director and Chairman of Post-Graduate Studies, said that communication became effective with the proper usage of language and vocabulary without any grammatical error. He asked students to make best use of the laboratory.

Leo Norohna, principal, said that it became imperative to have command over the language in the global competitive world.

TORQUE: Vijay H. Desai, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NITK-Surathkal, inaugurated the activities of TORQUE, an association of Mechanical Engineering students, at St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore.

MITE association: Activities of the Association of Civil Engineering Students, MITE, Moodbidri, were inaugurated recently by Anand Kumar, Managing Director, Master Plannery, Puttur. Principal of the Institute G.L. Easwara Prasad presided over the inaugural function.

Inauguration: The first semester B.E. classes were inaugurated and an orientation session was held for students of P.A. College of Engineering, Nadupadavu, recently.

Principal Abdul Sharief asked students to study sincerely to have a bright future. A students’ diary was released on the occasion. Heads of various departments spoke.
