Cusat has notified the commencement of online registration for the Common Admission Test / Departmental Admission Test / Test for Lateral Entry for admission to its various programmes. Online registration facilities will be provided up to February 12 through the website www.cusat.nic.in
The CUSAT – CAT 2010 will be conducted on May 8-9 at all district headquarters of Kerala; Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Lucknow, Ranchi, Allahabad, Jamshedpur, Kota and Kolkata for admission to the following academic programmes.
B.Tech: civil, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics, electronics and communication, IT, mechanical, safety and fire engineering, polymer science and engineering.
Five year integrated M.Sc. in photonics: Applicants should have a pass in Plus Two/ equivalent examination with mathematics, physics and chemistry as optional subjects, with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in mathematics and 50 per cent marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together.
B.Tech in Instrumentation Technology: Applicants should have a pass in Plus Two with mathematics, physics and chemistry as optional subject with a minimum of 60 per cent marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together, with at least 55 per cent marks in mathematics separately.
B.Tech in Marine Engineering (Residential Programme): Applicants should have a pass in Plus Two with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as separate subjects with PCM average of not less than 60 per cent marks and minimum 50 per cent in mathematics. Applicants should have obtained 50 per cent marks in English in 10th and 12th standards. Upper age limit is 25 year as on September 1, 2010.
B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Ship Building: Applicants should have a pass in Plus Two with first class having secured a minimum of 50 per cent marks in mathematics as well as in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together.
Five year BBA LLB (Hons): Applicants should have a pass in Plus Two with 60 per cent marks in science / commerce group or 55 per cent marks in Arts/ Humanities. The age of the applicants should not exceed 20 years of age as on July 1, 2010.
LLM: Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Law with at least 45 per cent marks.
MA (Hindi Language and Literature): Applicants should have a BA/ B.Sc. degree with Hindi as a subject of study with at least 45 per cent marks in Hindi.
MBA (full time): Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in any subject with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate.
MBA Travel and Tourism, International Business: Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in any subject with 50 per cent marks in aggregate.
MA (Applied Economics): Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in economics with 55 per cent marks in Part III (Economics and subsidiaries) or B.Com. with 60 per cent marks or BBA , 60 per cent marks in BBM with economics or B.Sc. Mathematics/ statistics with 65 per cent marks.
MCA: Applicants should be a graduate with mathematics as one of the main or subsidiary subjects or graduate in electronics/computer science /computer applications /engineering/technology with aggregate 55 per cent marks in all subjects other than languages and Humanities.
M.Sc. (Applied Chemistry): Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree in chemistry / polymer chemistry / environmental chemistry / industrial chemistry / petro chemicals as main with mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects with at least 55 per cent marks in the main subject.
M.Sc. (Biotechnology): Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in any branch of life sciences including agriculture and medical science or chemical science or chemical engineering with 55 per cent marks in aggregate.
M.Sc. Electronics Science with specialisation in artificial intelligence, robotics, microwave electronics and computer technology: Applicants should have a first class B.Sc. degree with 60 per cent aggregate marks in electronics or physics.
M.Sc. (Environmental Technology): For environmental engineering stream, applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in chemistry with physics and mathematics as subsidiaries or degree in civil / public health / environmental / chemical engineering with 55 per cent marks. For environmental biotechnology stream, applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in life sciences / environmental sciences / zoology / botany / microbiology with 55 per cent marks.
M.Sc. (Hydrochemistry): Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree in chemistry with physics and mathematics as subsidiaries with 55 per cent marks in main subjects.
M.Sc. (Industrial Fisheries): Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in zoology/ botany/ fisheries with at least 55 per cent marks in optional subjects.
M.Sc. (Marine Biology): Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree in any branch of life sciences such as aquaculture, biochemistry, biotechnology, botany, microbiology and zoology as main subject or a B.Sc. degree in fishery science with 55 per cent marks in the optional subjects.
M.Sc. (Marine Geology): Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree in geology / maths / physics / chemistry with 55 per cent aggregate marks in optionals.
M.Sc. (Marine geophysics): Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree with 55 per cent aggregate marks in geology main with mathematics and physics / chemistry as subsidiaries or physics main with mathematics and geology / chemistry / electronics as subsidiaries or mathematics main with physics and geology or chemistry as subsidiaries.
M.Sc. (Mathematics): Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree in mathematics with 55 per cent marks for optional subjects taken together.
M.Sc. (Metrology): Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree in physics/ mathematics as main subject with 55 per cent marks. Those with mathematics as the main subject should have studied physics as one of the subsidiary subjects and vice-versa.
M.Sc. (Oceanography): Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree in physics/ mathematics as the main subject with 55 per cent marks. Those with mathematics as the main subject should have studied physics as one of the subsidiary subjects and vice-verse.
M.Sc. (Physics): Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree in physics main and mathematics as subsidiary with 55 per cent marks in physics.
M.Sc. (Statistics): Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree in maths/ statistics with 55 per cent marks for optional subjects taken together. SC/ ST applicants with minimum pass marks are eligible for admission.
DAT
Admission to M.Tech. programmes are based on GATE score. Non GATE qualified candidate may also apply and they will be considered on the basis of Departmental Admission Test (DAT) in the absence of GATE qualified applicants.
MA Translation (German / Russian); Diploma in French / German / Japanese / Russian; PG Diploma in Communicative English; Translation and Functional Hindi.
M.Phil. – Chemistry, Commerce, Hindi, Physics and Mathematics; Applied Economics Marine Chemistry, Fisheries Science, Life Sciences.

Lateral Entry Test is required for admission to B.Tech. programmes in civil, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication, IT, instrumentation technology, mechanical, polymer science and engineering, safety and fire engineering. Three year regular engineering diploma holders in the relevant branch with 60 per cent marks can apply. Upper age limit is 25 years as on July 1, 2010. LET will be held on May 16. Online registration fee is Rs.850.
