Virtual interactive management programmes
XLRI has announced admissions for its Virtual Interactive Learning (VIL) programmes. The online application for the next intake for VIL courses in ‘Business Management’ and ‘Human Resource Management’ is open till September 22.
The VIL programmes enable working executives to undertake formal management learning in the city they reside and work, at a convenient time schedule without disrupting their professional commitments. These programmes are offered in technical association with Hughes Communication India Ltd and Reliance World (HCIL and RW).
There are 150 classroom centres across the country. The course entails approximately 300 hours of virtual classroom sessions including five days of compulsory campus classes for teaching, evaluation, etc. Since the inception of the VIL programmes, about 4,000 students have studied under the aegis of XLRI-VIL.
Applicants should be graduates with at least two years of work experience after graduation. After successful completion of the programme, students are awarded a postgraduate certificate.
MBA Scholarships at Newcastle University
Newcastle University Business School has announced new MBA scholarships geared towards attracting high-calibre, future business leaders, from around the world.
A number of Global Leader Scholarships have been developed to support the best students in India by offering tuition-fee reductions of £2,500, for a full-time MBA programme, at a Russell Group University.
With a focus on collaboration and real-life application, the programme will provide students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to be a business leader in an increasingly globalised and fast-changing environment.
The MBA programme has a ‘Business in Action’ module that involves applying skills and learning from modules in complex and unexpected situations.
The MBA programme, and scholarship opportunity, requires individuals with at least three years’ management experience, with the knowledge, skills, support and educational understanding needed to enhance their employability.

Deloitte’s Campus Maverick programme
Deloitte, has launched the 2013 edition of Campus Maverick. It is a unique business solutions competition that not only tests the business acumen of management students, but actually challenges them to rise to a new level of leadership, apply unconventional thinking to solve complex business problems and embrace an inclusive work culture with diverse perspectives and solutions that are cutting edge as well as socially responsible.
As many as 14,000 students are participating in the programme that’s in its second stage. As a talent search programme launched in 2012, Campus Maverick touched over 6,000 students from 30 top business schools and focused on bringing consultative skills and a solutions mindset to the fore among the student community.
In India about 50 teams have qualified for the four regional rounds, which will be held in NewDelhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Hyderabad. The top teams from each of the four regions will qualify for the grand finale at Deloitte’s premises on September 20.
